Stable, strong, lifelong, natural implants that can do everything that real teeth can do!
Implantation has become increasingly popular among dental treatments in recent decades, as it offers significant advantages not only aesthetically but also functionally over traditional dentures.
An implant is a screw that the dentist inserts directly into the jaw bone. It is made of titanium, which is a completely tissue-friendly, durable material. After implantation, the connection between the bone and the implant is strengthened through a natural process called osseointegration, that is, the dental implant is fused with the tooth, thus fulfilling the function of an artificial tooth root providing a stable base for the prosthesis placed on it.
What is an implant?
An implant is an artificial root implanted into the jawbone, usually made of titanium. Titanium is completely tissue-friendly, in case of proper healing it is fixed in the bone. The implantation is dental procedure that works great for decades and does not cause any malignant lesions.
Pros and cons of implantation
Implantation is a dental procedure that works great for decades and does not cause any malignant lesions.
Implantation is one of the most modern and durable solutions in the field of dentures. A finished, permanently healed tooth can last a lifetime (with proper care).
The implanted artificial root and the final crown placed on it fit perfectly into the denture, making the replacement almost imperceptible, creating a natural effect.
Implantation replacement is one of the slower dental treatments, as healing and final ossification are a more time-consuming process. From the day of surgery to the finished denture (crown placement), it is necessary to plan the entire treatment process approximately for a minimum of 3-6 months.
What is the importance of implantation dentures?
The implant is of great importance, since with its help it is possible to replace missing teeth:
- in the absence of a single tooth, a crown can be made without grinding adjacent teeth;
- in the case of end-of-row or excessively long inter-row gaps, a fixed replacement can be made instead of a removable denture;
- a fixed replacement can be made in the case of complete toothlessness, or the removable denture can be given a stable anchorage, providing a feeling of comfort and a much better chewing ability.
The first things to do
It is important to know that implantation is carried out in all cases after consultation, on the basis of a personalized treatment plan!
An important part of the consultation is the evaluation of dental x-rays and 3D CBCT imaging. Based on this, it is possible to determine the current state of the jaw and bone, as well as to accurately determine the size, position of the implant.
With the new surgical procedure — a template dental implantation technique — the position of the implant is designed completely individually. Implantation is performed with the lead of a digitally designed template thanks to CT imaging and 3D intraoral imprinting. Thanks to the surgical template, a smaller incision may be sufficient, so that the intervention itself and the healing time can be shortened.
Advantages: state-of-the-art oral surgery procedure, maximum accuracy, shorter surgery, shorter recovery time, reduced risk of complications.
To whom is it recommended and to whom is it not?
It can be recommended for anyone who does not have contraindications to the procedure, or to those who are able to maintain proper oral hygiene. According to statistics, in 95-97% of cases, bone fixation of the implant is successful, but some factors can reduce the chances of this. For certain diseases, such as diabetes, severe cardiovascular disease, and even heavy smokers or those with poor oral hygiene, intervention may be considered. Implantation is not recommended before the age of 18 or during pregnancy.
Care for the implant
Many people think that a replacement is not necessary to be cared for like our own teeth. But this is wrong! It is especially important to keep the dentition and wound clean before and in the days following the operation. Caring for and cleaning of the healed implant is equally important. Plaque that depositing around the replacement can cause serious problems in the same way as with a living tooth. Think of replacement as real teeth.
With proper cleaning and care, the implant can be the solution of a lifetime!
The price of implantation
In each case, the intervention is completely personalized, so its cost can also vary from individual to individual.
After the consultation, a treatment plan is drawn up for each of our patients, in which each treatment is indicated per item with exact prices.
